The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a fast-paced, competitive role, responsible for collaborating with our Field Sales team to identify leads and is the perfect place to build a career in the software sales industry. In this role, you will partner with our outside sales team to help identify and develop new opportunities within the SLED market as well as with existing ezIQC accounts. An ideal candidate will have experience working with procurement projects with state and local municipalities, county governments and K-12 school systems. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and driven individual who is goal-oriented, methodical, tenacious, and can effectively collaborate across all levels of an organization. This position will manage a West Coast territory and will work remotely.

Primary Responsibilities

  • As a BDR, you will make cold calls to prospects to identify decision makers, qualify sales leads and set up appointments for Account Executives.
  • Develop and maintain a strong level of knowledge of Gordian’s JOC and ezIQC solutions in an assigned territory of vertical market
  • Produce Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) using established criteria and coordinate engagements with our Field Sales Representatives
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales and outbound call activity goals
  • Develop and manage lead funnel within the US market
  • Engage prospects using phone, email, and social media platforms
  • Partner with Field Sales organization to upsell and expand relationships within existing customers across a specific vertical or account base
  • Ensure retention of existing customers with a focus on maintaining and growing construction volume within our ezIQC customer base
  • Identify dormant accounts and drive re-engagement efforts resulting in usage of our ezIQC solution
  • Track and manage prospecting, qualification, and cultivate activities within
  • Adopt FBS philosophy and consistently apply the daily management tools provided to drive performance against individual and team goals
  • Adhere to standard work practices and consistently perform at a level achieving and exceeding all activity and sales metrics
  • 2+ years of Business Development and prospecting experience in the B2G or B2B environment
  • Bachelor's degree desired, but comparable work experience will be considered
  • Able to explain technical solutions to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience researching and identifying leads then moving them through a formal sales process effectively
  • Well developed skills at creating, building and maintain effective client relationships
  • Track record of successfully reaching, and exceeding, established sales quotas
  • Exceptional verbal, written, listening skills, as well as the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with customers at all levels
  • Discipline to maintain high activity level and call volume while recording all activities in our CRM platform (
  • Strong attention to detail and making and keeping commitments and deadlines
  • Work as a team with Outside sales to identify prospects, then performing research to effectively perform prospect and account research to prepare for calls
  • A passion for success along with the ability to identify targets and achieve them
  • Public procurement knowledge or knowledge of ezIQC products is beneficial, but not required
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
