We are looking for an independent and motivated individual contributor to join our sales team. The Sales Development Representative will focus on new business development through outbound prospecting and driving inbound leads to discovery meetings with Account Executives.


The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working with people across roles both inside and outside the company and will be comfortable communicating with technical teams.


You will:

  • Appropriately qualify and contact inbound leads
  • Lead discovery discussions with prospects and existing customers over email, chat, and the phone to identify and qualify opportunities
  • Understand customer pain points and gather technical requirements
  • Work directly with our Account Executives and Sales Engineers to progress leads to qualified opportunities
  • Generate interest and provide vision of Coder's software to potential customers
  • Provide detailed call notes into our systems, ensuring the opportunity is understood by the broader Coder teams and next steps are clearly defined
  • Proactively and persistently follow up in an organized way to progress outbound prospects and inbound leads to respond and meet Coder and eventually evaluate our awesome software


You may be fit for this role if you have:

  • College/University Degree
  • 1 year or more of experience in software or SaaS prospecting and sales into enterprise accounts
  • 1 year or more of experience using a CRM, email marketing and information sharing tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, OutReach, Chorus, Otter, and Notion
  • A proven aptitude as a self-starter with good interpersonal skills and organizational skills, decisive and result-oriented who is prepared to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • A willingness and energy to do more than one thing, need little direction, and are adaptable as an operator to take on additional tasks of value to Coder when asked
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Bonus points if you have:

  • Knowledge of developer tools, git providers and CI/CD tools are a plus
  • You have worked in a software startup and understand the pace and energy required - a big emphasis on this bonus point - life in startups is tons of fun but is also a lot of stress and requires composure
